A different kind of paddle - and an AMAZING place
My other blog thingy is messed up, so I'm posting here! My photos from a sea kayak day on the Milford Sound in Fiordland, South Island. It was really daunting in there! These are highest sea cliffs in the world. Giant waterfalls were pounding down the sides in the soggy morning fog, but they were dwarfed by the sea cliffs. We couldn't tell how far away one shore was from another because the huge mountains completely threw off our sense of distance and space. INCREDIBLE energy.
This was way different from a whitewater paddle, but when we neared the mouth of the sound and experience some huge swells (waves) coming in from the Tazman Sea, it was a wild hard paddle back in!
Whoop whoop! Last two weeks in NZ before I head to Chile. I had an amazing holiday with a visit from Sarah and her sister Amelia who went on this sea kayak adventure with me with a kayaking company down there. INCREDIBLE! keep checking for my post on heli-boating!
